The minibar is over sixty years old and the first hotel to incorporate it was Madison Washington DC in 1960. The installation of the minibar was considered an innovation and a service available only to the most luxurious places. This drawer of “secrets” only contained things to eat, but from the 70s to satisfy the customer, alcoholic beverages were added. Hong Kong Hilton hotel was the first to do so.
Since then, the possibilities of the minibar are endless, soft drinks, cocktails, chocolates, nuts, snacks or even sandwiches, are on the menu and inside of our old friend minibar.
